Dr. Jan Jurkus is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry (OD) and Loyola University of Chicago (MBA). Her teaching responsibilities include the didactic and laboratory portions of the basic and advanced contact lens courses. She is also responsible for Practice Management education in the Business of Optometry class. She is a core staff doctor in the Cornea/Contact Lens Clinic and is the coordinator of the Cornea Contact Lens Residency Program. Dr. Jurkus is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry with Diplomate status in the Cornea Contact Lens Section. She is also a Fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators (FIACLE). She is active in the Association of Optometric Contact Lens Educators and a member of the American Optometric Association and the World Council of Optometry. Her research publication topics contact lenses, practice management, marketing and education development. Her main interests include international education and contact lenses. Dr. Jurkus has taught and lectured worldwide.
